Zone Importer
Move a DNS zone to Cloudflare from a CSV export
Export the records from your current DNS provider, pick the Cloudflare zone, upload the file, and check the preview. Every record is then created in one go, DNS only.
What it does
Any provider’s CSV
Column names differ between registrars and DNS hosts. The importer works out which column is the name, type, value and TTL.
Preview first
See every record it will create, the ones it skips and why, and the ones already in Cloudflare, before anything changes.
DNS only
Records are created with the proxy off (grey cloud), so traffic keeps flowing exactly as it did with your old provider.
Least privilege
Signs in with Cloudflare OAuth and asks only to read zones and edit DNS. Your file is never stored.
How it works
- Add the domain to Cloudflare first, so the zone exists.
- Export the zone from your current provider as CSV.
- Sign in, pick the zone and upload the file.
- Review the preview and create the records.
- Check them in the Cloudflare dashboard, then switch the nameservers at your registrar.
The CSV file
One DNS record per row. A header row is recommended. Comma, semicolon and tab separators all work.
Name;Type;Content;TTL
@;A;203.0.113.10;3600
www;CNAME;example.com.;3600
@;MX;10 mail.example.com.;3600
@;TXT;"v=spf1 include:_spf.example.net -all";3600
_sip._tls;SRV;100 1 443 sip.example.net.;3600
- Name:
@or blank for the zone apex, a relative name (www) or the full name (www.example.com, trailing dot optional). Also read from columns called Host, Hostname, Entrada DNS, Nombre, Record. - Type: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA, NS or PTR.
SPFis imported as TXT.MX 10(priority inside the type) works too. Also read from Tipo, Record Type. - Value: MX as
priority host, SRV aspriority weight port target, CAA asflags tag value. Quotes around TXT values are removed. Also read from Content, Valor, Data, Target, Points to. - TTL (optional), in seconds. Missing means automatic. A separate Priority column is also understood.
- SOA and the apex NS records are skipped: Cloudflare manages those itself. NS records for subdomains are kept as delegations.
